Since 1998, the NAMM Foundation has been conducting the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) survey, a nationwide search for communities that exemplify commitment to music education. The 2010 survey runs from Thursday, January 14 to Friday, March 12.

The NAMM Foundation embarked on a new effort to raise funds to support programs and activities that strengthen music education in schools and provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn to play music.
