The Music Achievement Council is an organization of music leaders dedicated to developing and retaining instrumental music students and teachers. It was formed in 1983 for the express purpose of supporting instrumental music programs in our schools. The council produces educational materials for use by band and orchestra directors to help improve the recruiting and retention of instrumental music students.

Tips and Tools
Recruiting for beginning instrumental music is a year-round job. Although the director's task may be challenging, there is a great deal and variety of help available. These tools describe recruiting methods being used successfully today by directors in schools throughout the country.
