Each spring, NAMM members gather in Washington, D.C. to serve as advocates for the right of every child to learn and grow with music by visiting with their elected representatives on Capitol Hill.
The 2017 NAMM Music Education Advocacy D.C. Fly-In, happening May 22-25, concludes with a SupportMusic Coalition Webcast “LIVE from Washington, D.C.” on Thursday morning. NAMM members will sound off on their experiences on the Hill.
"I’d always heard that reaching out to one’s elected officials can make an impact on the decisions that they make on our behalf, but I never actually experienced it,” said Daniel Shatzkes, Gig Gear LLC, during last year’s NAMM Fly-In. “This trip changed my mind. I have no doubt that our voices were heard loud and clear by the members of the House and Senate with whom we were able to meet.”
