Women of NAMM Announce the Return of WoN Summit and Scholarship Opportunity in Honor of Diane Martin

Earlier this evening at the Women of NAMM (WoN) gathering at The 2022 NAMM Show, the leadership council announced the return of the WoN Summit, to be held October 17-19, 2022 at NAMM’s headquarters The council also announced in tribute to the memory and lasting impact of industry philanthropist, business leader, wife, and mother, Diane Martin, donations made in her honor to WoN Fund will help continue to ensure that WoN will create opportunities for women across the music, sound and live event industries to connect, support and grow.  

Now in its third year, the WoN Summit is an intensive, two-day leadership immersion experience is designed to support women working across the industry and their goals to connect, support, and grow their leadership and professional abilities.  Participants will experience an opening and closing reception, meals during the summit and travel to/from the hotel to NAMM headquarters.  Summit scholarship awardees cover their own travel costs. The estimated grant value is $7,000. 

Applicants who express a need may apply for a one-time scholarship of $750 to help support for travel-related expenses to attend the Summit made possible by generous donors celebrating the life and legacy of Diane Martin. To be considered for the Diane Martin Women of NAMM Leadership Summit Scholarship, applicants are required to provide a short essay as part of the application process.  

Council chair, Lisa MacDonald of Yamaha shares, “Women of NAMM is incredibly grateful to the Martins for their generous support and long-standing leadership in encouraging and promoting womens’ success in the music industry. Through Diane’s shining example, allows WoN to expand its impact to more women, an opportunity we cherish and will honor.” 

To be considered for the WoN Summit, applicants must have at least five years of experience working in the industry and seek opportunities to expand their leadership and professional competencies; be at a manager level or higher and must work for a NAMM member company.
