SWIM (Smart Women in Music Fund)
SWIM Mission: The Smart Women in Music (SWIM) Fund was created in 2018 to expand diversity, inclusion and support for women in the music products industry.
The SWIM Fund supports women in the music products industry in the development of their leadership proficiencies and aspirations.
All contributions are tax-deductible, and 100% of all gifts will be used for the activities of the Fund (listed below).
The SWIM Fund will be used to support women in various stages of their careers in the music products industry through the following activities:
- Professional development opportunities at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA and at Summer NAMM in Nashville, TN
- Job-shadowing and mentoring with women who are industry leaders at trade shows and other music industry events
- In-company residencies
- Invitation to apply to attend an annual two-day SWIM leadership symposium for up to 16 women in 2021. See the opportunity below.
The Smart Women in Music (SWIM) Summit Application (Closed)
SWIM Summit Program Statement of Purpose: The SWIM Summit program supports women working in the music products industry and their goals to connect, support and grow their leadership and professional abilities. An annual leadership emersion experience will be offered with the applicants receiving the educational experience covered by the awarded scholarship.
Up to 16 SWIM Summit scholarships will be awarded. Awards cover the curriculum costs for a three-day leadership summit, an opening and closing reception, meals during the summit and travel to/from the hotel and to NAMM headquarters. The estimated grant value is $4,500.
Summit scholarship awardees cover their costs for travel to San Diego, California, hotel, and travel to/from the airport and any other incidentals.

SWIM Fund Summer NAMM Scholarship (Closed)
Program Statement of Purpose: The SWIM Fund scholarship program supports women working in the music products industry in their goals to connect, support and grow their leadership and professional skill sets. A one-time stipend of $1,000 is available to support qualified applicants' attendance and participation at Summer NAMM, July 15-16, 2021 in Nashville, TN. Awards can be used to support travel, housing and other expenses related to attending Summer NAMM where scholarship recipients will be recognized at a SWIM Meet reception.
Three (3) SWIM scholarships will be awarded; stipend payment will be made as a reimbursement after NAMM Foundation staff receives the required final report that outlines recipients' participation in Summer NAMM events.
