Women of NAMM
The Women of NAMM (WoN) Fund was created in to expand diversity, inclusion and support for women in the music products industry.

Women of NAMM (WoN) (Formerly Smart Women In Music):  Women of NAMM (WoN) is a council of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) dedicated to increasing female representation in the industry. WoN will continue to pursue the vision, mission, and objectives set forth by SWIM for the benefit of women in the music products industry and expand to include female professionals in other NAMM member categories including the pro audio and entertainment technology segments. 

The Women of NAMM (WoN) Fund supports women in the music products industry in the development of their leadership proficiencies and aspirations.

All contributions are tax-deductible, and 100% of all gifts will be used for the activities of the Fund (listed below). 

The Women of NAMM  Fund will be used to support women in various stages of their careers in the music products industry through the following activities:

  • Professional development opportunities at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA
  • Job-shadowing and mentoring with women who are industry leaders at trade shows and other music industry events
  • In-company residencies
  • Invitation to apply to attend an annual two-day Women of NAMM leadership symposium at NAMM Headquarters. See the opportunity below.

The Women of NAMM (WoN) Summit Application (Closed)

WoN Summit Program Statement of Purpose: The WoN Summit program supports women working in the music products industry and their goals to connect, support, and grow their leadership and professional abilities.  An annual leadership emersion experience will be offered with the applicants receiving the educational experience covered by the awarded scholarship.

Award: Up to 16 WoN Summit scholarships will be awarded. The two-day leadership summit includes an opening and closing reception, meals during the summit and travel to/from the hotel to NAMM headquarters. The estimated grant value is $7,000. Summit scholarship awardees cover their costs for travel to San Diego, California, hotel, and travel to/from the airport and any other incidentals.

Optional: Applicants can apply for support for travel-related expenses. A one-time scholarship is available in the amount of $750 to support the applicant's travel and housing to attend the WoN Summit.  This scholarship opportunity has been created by generous donors to Women of NAMM (WoN) Fund celebrating the life and legacy of Diane Martin who was deeply committed to the creation of the SWIM Fund-now the WoN Fund-and its goals to create more opportunities for leadership development for women in the music industry. 

To be considered for a Diane Martin Women of NAMM Leadership Summit Scholarship, please provide a short essay that outlines the need for financial support. Please include information about other sources of support that will help you participate in the summit including employer support, if applicable

The Women of NAMM Show Scholarship  (Closed)

Overview: The Women of NAMM Fund NAMM Show scholarship program seeks to support women with goals to connect, support, and grow as professionals and leaders, and contribute to the development of the music products industry.


  • A one-time stipend of $1,500 to support attendance and participation at The 2022 NAMM Show
  • Awards can support travel, housing, and other expenses for attending NAMM
  • Recipients will be recognized at The WoN reception during The NAMM Show
  • Stipend payment will be made as a reimbursement after The NAMM show and upon completion of the required final report
