Music Matters Brochure
Developed with the Arts Education Partnership and the Country Music Association Foundation, the Music Matters brochure brings together the latest research on the benefits of music education and how it supports student achievement and lifelong success.
Drawing from studies featured in ArtsEdSearch, this brochure highlights how music learning can help students build important academic, social and personal skills. Participation in music education provides opportunities for students to strengthen creativity, communication, collaboration and perseverance while developing skills that can support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The research also reinforces the importance of ensuring students have access to meaningful music learning opportunities as part of a well-rounded education. By bringing key findings together in an accessible format, Music Matters provides educators, families, school leaders and advocates with research they can use to communicate the value of music education.
Use this resource to help start conversations with administrators and community leaders, support music education advocacy efforts or share the benefits of music learning with families and other stakeholders.
Download and share the Music Matters brochure to help make the case for music education in your school or community.
