    For the past several years, The NAMM Foundation has distributed music making grants to support a select number of nonprofit public service organizations. These organizations have missions to expand access and opportunity to music education for thousands of individuals and provide innovative music education and hands-on music making programs. One such program is Orchestre à l’Ecole which is changing the lives of students across France by getting them involved in orchestra classes.

    Randi Martin, a 2017 Gard recipient, gained experience in the music products industry working with Menchey Music Service, a NAMM member company that specializes in instrument rentals and school service.
  • Grantee Spotlight: National Strings Project Consortium

    The National Strings Project Consortium (NSPC), a NAMM Foundation grantee for 11 years, is dedicated to increasing the number of children playing stringed instruments while also addressing the shortage of string teachers in the U.S
  • Grantee Spotlight: Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation

    A NAMM Foundation partner and grantee for over twenty years, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation keeps music alive in our schools by donating musical instruments and support services to under-funded music programs across the U.S. Inspired by the acclaimed film Mr. Holland’s Opus, the Foundation gives economically-disadvantaged youth access to the many benefits of music education, leading them to success in school, and inspiring creativity and expression through making music.
  • Grantee Spotlight: VH1 Save The Music Foundation

    Since its inception in 1997, VH1 Save The Music Foundation has partnered with The NAMM Foundation to help further their mission of raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s well-rounded, complete education.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Guitars in The Classroom

    Guitars in the Classroom, a 12-year NAMM Foundation grant recipient which serves over 260,000 children per year, is dedicated to increasing literacy and learning across the curriculum through integrated music making in public elementary school classrooms.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Percussion Marketing Council (PMC)

    The Percussion Marketing Council (PMC) is deeply committed to helping to create more music makers. A 20-year NAMM Foundation Music Making Program grantee, PMC uniquely understands that the future of percussion products is directly linked to the creation of more players, and by creating more music makers, all music retailers (manufacturers, distributors, publishers etc.) benefit!
  • Grantee Spotlight: The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

    The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile audio and video recording and production facility, committed to providing students with increased access to music, audio, video and broadcast technology. The Lennon Bus works with national partners, including The NAMM Foundation, to bring these events to elementary, middle and high schools around the country regardless of their levels of expertise.
  • Grantee Spotlight: SongwritingWith:Soldiers

    One of this year’s NAMM Foundation grantees is SongwritingWith:Soldiers, an organization that uses songwriting as a catalyst for personal reflection and change. Their unique model pairs professional songwriters with veterans in retreat and workshop settings, offering participants a way to tell their stories, rebuild trust, release pain and forge relationships.
  • Gard Scholarship Award Recipient, Jon Blanchette, Reflects on Working for a NAMM Retailer

    Jon Blanchette, a 2015 Gard Scholarship Award Recipient, gained experience in the music products industry working with NAMM member Rick’s Musical Instruments in Cumberland, RI. Blanchette experienced working in the industry firsthand while learning to repair brass instruments.
