Scotts Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) is one of many districts across the U.S. recognized as a Best Communities for Music Education in 2017 by The NAMM Foundation. Beth Hollenbeck (left in photo), music educator at Scotts Valley Middle School and High School is the driving force behind music education in Scotts Valley, CA.
The NAMM Foundation celebrated the great work at Scotts Valley recently with a SupportMusic Coalition town hall event where a community of advocates and supporters of music education gathered to express their ongoing commitment to music education and thanks to NAMM for putting them in the spotlight!
“NAMM does so much to bring attention to the importance and benefits music education brings to our students,” said Hollenbeck. “Thanks to the SupportMusic Community Forum, Fabiola Rodriguez from Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's office (who was at our forum) followed up by sending me the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) funding breakdown for the arts, which was very helpful.”
