  • Celebrating Musical Excellence at The Midwest Band Clinic

    At The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference, Dec. 20-22, The NAMM Foundation sponsored several music-education related events including The SupportMusic Coalition on Coalitions Advocacy Roundtable and the “Celebrating Musical Excellence Through Diversity” Reception.
  • Grantee Spotlight: The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

    The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile audio and video recording and production facility, committed to providing students with increased access to music, audio, video and broadcast technology. The Lennon Bus works with national partners, including The NAMM Foundation, to bring these events to elementary, middle and high schools around the country regardless of their levels of expertise.
  • Smith River Committed to Music Education For All

    Smith River, a K-8 school part of the Del Norte County Schools in Smith River California, is a four-time recipient of The NAMM Foundation’s Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) designation.
  • Communicating Music Education to Your Community

    Music educators are encouraged to watch “Tips for Success” videos (brought to you by The Music Achievement Council). The Music Achievement Council is an action-oriented nonprofit enabling more students to begin and stay in instrumental music programs.
  • The Nonprofit Management Institute at The 2018 NAMM Show

    Nonprofit organizations are invited to attend The 2018 NAMM Show by applying to become part of The NAMM Foundation's Nonprofit Network as well as participate in the first annual Nonprofit Management Institute. Organizations that advance active participation in music making (and create music makers) are encouraged to apply to attend, and RSVP to the Institute.

    Composer and conductor Keith McCutchen is Director of Choral Activities at Kentucky State, as well as a jazz pianist who has performed with the likes of bassist Richard Davis, saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, and trumpeter Wayne Bergeron. We recently caught up with Dr. McCutchen to hear about his new piece for The 2018 NAMM Show's Roomful of Pianos in January.

Their unique model pairs professional songwriters with veterans in retreat and workshop settings, offering participants a way to tell their stories, rebuild trust, release pain and forge relationships.
