From The Desk of Mary: Planets Align for Global Day of Music

For all of us that believe in music, its inherent value to every human being and its potential to 'save us all,' the planets truly do align on June 21 as the northern hemisphere Summer Solstice marks the jubilant and global Make Music Day. We salute the visionary French who originated FÊTE de la Musique in 1982 and started a movement that has now grown to over 120 countries around the world.

The NAMM Foundation is grateful to support the Make Music Alliance and its army of organizers in a growing network of cities, communities and regions that organize Make Music Day events for people of all ages and abilities. Wishing you ALL a great Make Music Day wherever you are with a reminder that together, we can change the world – one quarter note at a time!
