Grantee Spotlight: Music for All

In This Article:

Music for All, the charity arm of the United Kingdom’s Music Industries Association, is a 11-year NAMM Foundation grantee that inspires more music makers through their outreach programs like Learn to Play Day and Make Music Day.

Each year, Music for All brings free Learn to Play Day experiences to people of all ages and backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to participate in free lessons across the UK. Music shops and other venues throughout the UK open their doors to anyone, young and old, to take part and make music. With The NAMM Foundation’s support, Music for All has expanded Learn to Play Day and now also runs Make Music Day in the UK, the global celebration of music held each year on the summer solstice, June 21.

“The NAMM Foundation support has enabled us to establish Learn to Play Day and Make Music Day in the UK to an extent we never would have realized without their support, creating thousands more music makers," shared Paul McManus, chief executive of Music For All and the MIA. "We have testimonials from a number of people who have either started or re-started their musical journey as a result of taking part in Learn to Play Day.”
