  • The NAMM Foundation Announces $675k in Music Making Grants to Twenty-Five Organizations

    The National Association of Music Merchants Foundation (NAMM) has announced that the organization will benefit 25 music making organizations to a total sum of $675,000. The beneficiaries hail from all corners of the world and while each is unique in the instruction and areas it serves, the beneficiaries share in the Foundation’s mission creating and supporting access to quality music education programs to inspire a life-long love of music making.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Coalition for Music Education in Canada

    The Coalition for Music Education in Canada, a 16-year NAMM Foundation Music Making Grantee, was founded in 1992 to improve the state of music education in Canada. The Coalition’s mission is to raise the awareness and understanding of the role that music education plays in Canadian culture, and to promote the benefits that music education brings to young people.
  • Grantee Spotlight: ANAFIMA

    ANAFIMA, Associação Nacional Da Indústria da Música, is the Brazilian music industry association that serves over 1,200 people annually across Brazil. A third-time NAMM Foundation grantee, ANAFIMA has utilized the grant to increase Brazil’s participation in Music Teaching Week, which aims to use education as an instrument to generate a passion for music, and Make Music Day.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Australian Music Association

    The Australian Music Association (AMA) is the voice of the music products industry and helping to grow music making in Australia. The AMA has been a NAMM Foundation grantee partner for over nine years which has enabled them to create music making opportunities both in schools and the community, which continues to benefit the industry.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Orchestre à l’Ecole

    For the past several years, The NAMM Foundation has distributed music making grants to support a select number of nonprofit public service organizations. These organizations have missions to expand access and opportunity to music education for thousands of individuals and provide innovative music education and hands-on music making programs. One such program is Orchestre à l’Ecole which is changing the lives of students across France by getting them involved in orchestra classes.
  • Gard Scholarship Award Recipient, Randi Martin, Reflects on Working for a NAMM Retailer

    Randi Martin, a 2017 Gard recipient, gained experience in the music products industry working with Menchey Music Service, a NAMM member company that specializes in instrument rentals and school service.

    The National String Project Consortium (NSPC), a NAMM Foundation grantee for 11 years, is dedicated to increasing the number of children playing stringed instruments while also addressing the shortage of string teachers in the U.S
  • Grantee Spotlight: Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation

    A NAMM Foundation partner and grantee for over twenty years, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation keeps music alive in our schools by donating musical instruments and support services to under-funded music programs across the U.S. Inspired by the acclaimed film Mr. Holland’s Opus, the Foundation gives economically-disadvantaged youth access to the many benefits of music education, leading them to success in school, and inspiring creativity and expression through making music.

    Since its inception in 1997, VH1 Save The Music Foundation has partnered with The NAMM Foundation to help further their mission of raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s well-rounded, complete education.
  • Grantee Spotlight: Guitars in The Classroom

    Guitars in the Classroom, a 12-year NAMM Foundation grant recipient which serves over 260,000 children per year, is dedicated to increasing literacy and learning across the curriculum through integrated music making in public elementary school classrooms.
